An agreement has been signed that will see more trade and investment opportunities between Kenya and Saudi Arabia.

Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Richard Ngatia signed a memorandum of understanding with the Federation of Saudi Chambers Monday 14 March, 2022 in Saudi Arabia.

“Today we have signed a memorandum of understanding between the Federation of Saudi Chambers and the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry in a bid to enhance trade and investment between the two countries”, Ngatia said in a statement. 

The KNCCI president is attending the Saudi Arabia – Kenya Business Forum at the  Council Saudi Chambers in the country.

In Kenya, the Chamber president has mounted a spirited campaign that aims to create job opportunities, especially for the youth and women groups, to improve livelihoods of Nairobi City residents and Kenyans in general.

Mr Ngatia is a top contender for the Nairobi City governor’s seat in the August 9 General Election under the Azimio La Umoja coalition fronted by Orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Among his campaign promises, he asserts that improved trade and investment in the proposed industrial zones within the 47 counties of Kenya will provide viable solutions for job opportunities in the country.

On his campaign trail, Ngatia has been urging both local and foreign industrialists to invest in Kenya and create job opportunities for the youth. 

He has promised to initiate legislation create national and county laws that would favour enhanced industrial investment in Nairobi and other regions of the country.
