The former Kware Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Ken Ngondi has received major endorsement to to take over Nairobi City County Assembly as the next speaker.

This comes days after the Governor Elect Johnson Sakaja took Hon Ngodi as the preferred candidate for the position following his goodwill for the service of Nairobians.

Sakaja’s endorsement was confirmed by a number elected MCAs including the former minority chief whip Peter Imwatok who is the Makongeni MCA elect amongst other Azimio La Umoja allied legislators.

Ngondi previously served as deputy speaker in Governor Evans Kidero’s regime.

“Having served as the deputy speaker under the late Alex Magello and as a former MCA for Kware ward, I understand the the roles and responsibilities of a speaker. Nairobi requires a person who will be able to bring both political coalitions together to serve Nairobians with diligence,” Ngondi said.

Ngondi had expressed interest for Embakasi South Constituency parliamentary seat and dropped bid in favour of incumbent MP Julius Mawathe.
