Public Service, Gender and Affirmative Action Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa has urged Kenyans to wear locally-made clothes.
Jumwa called on both men and women to take pride in wearing African attires.
The CS was speaking during the Third Annual Women’s Economic Forum organised by the Community Advocacy and Awareness (CRAWN) Trust held in Nairobi on Monday.
“Please, please promote your tailors,” she said, encouraging the women to show up in locally-made pieces throughout the two-day event.
Jumwa praised the women who had turned out in large numbers wearing locally-made ‘Vitenge’.
“By the way, you are all looking amazing from up here and I believe that I too am looking amazing from down there,” she said while addressing from the podium.
