As the Chief Justice and the Judicial Service Commission continues to fight graft within the Judiciary, a weird trend that seems to be promoting graft has emerged.
For instance some whistle blowers, advocates and Prosecutors have unearthed some serious grafts sponsored by head of stations that has led to animosity and poor governance among magistrates.
So far , Makadara courts, Kibera, Bungoma, Garisa, Makueni and Kisumu courts leads.
In this courts, some Magistrates have been barred from from taking pleas and other sensitive cases that requires their attentions.
” In Kibera court pleas are only done by several secluded courts and other magistrates have been completely secluded from some cases, the proceeds of crime that may arise from pleas are shared among magistrates from courts mentioned above,” said a prosecutor aware of the matter.
The same scandal also exists in Makadara courts, Machakos courts and some courts in Central Kenya.
Experts are now calling on the Judiciary Service Commission and the CJ to act and atop the mess reducing, corruption, conmanship and fraud.
” We want the CJ if possible to transfer all the head of stations from Kibera and Makadara and all the other stations mentioned in the matter to enhance transparency and effective delivery of services,” said a Nairobi Prosecutor.
