The non communicable diseases alliance of Kenya has today urged the government and striking doctors to find an immediate solution in order to save the already disrupted healthcare system which is now on the sixth week.The board vice chair at NCD alliance Kenya Mr John gikonyo said that the continuation of the strike poses a grave threat for those suffering from chronic conditions like diabetes,sickle cell anaemia,renal disease,stroke and mental health.
Stressing on the same point,the chairperson of the caucus of patient led organizations Mr Evans majau said that it was important for both parties to come back on the negotiating table to find a middle ground,because the health of our nations depends on the truce of both parties.Dr. Catherine karekezi,the executive director at NCD alliance emphasized that the stakeholders should demonstrate leadership, compassion and a countability in addressing the current healthcare crisis.
