The Zimbambwe Government has expressed commitment to help Malawi in strengthening its security by training security officers.
The sentiments were made on Monday at capital hill in Lilongwe when Zimbabwe ambassador to Malawi Nancy Saungweme paid a courtesy call to the Minister of Homeland Security Kenneth Zikhale Ng’oma.
Saungweme said there is a good diplomatic relationship between the government of Malawi and Zimbabwe which specifically aims to benefit the people of two nations.
Saungweme revealed that her government intends to help Malawi in the areas of security by among others providing training and expertise to security officers.
She further highlighted that the two nations have signed a memorandum of understanding ( MoU) on a prisoners exchange program.
On his part Malawi’s Minister of Homeland Security Kenneth Zikhale Ng’oma said the initiative is critical in boosting the country’s security.
Ng’oma added that the government is ready in implementing the prisoners exchange program with the government of Zimbabwe.
