The Ward Representative elect Abbas Khalif has joined Kenya Kwanza a day after his close ally and Isiolo Governor Abdi Guyo joined William Ruto.
Abbas was upset by Azimio Coalitions’ move stop his bid for Majority Leader post.
According to sources privy to the ongoing plans Azimio has delegated the majority leader position to Upper Savannah MCA Stazo Omung’ala.
“He is just strategic to stay in government after failing to secure majority leader seat but it is not the best way to go. Guyo has however influenced him to join Kenya Kwanza.” UDA MCA who sought anonymity said.
Abbas has now been tasked to influence other MCAs from Azimio and deliver the Assembly speaker seat to Kenya Kwanza.
“Ruto and Sakaja team has tasked him to woo Azimio MCAs in the Assembly to vote in Kenya Kwanza Speaker,” the MCA said.
