Bang Bet gaming company has proudly announced its sponsorship of rally drivers Gerald Maina and John in the upcoming World Rally Championship (WRC) Safari Rally. The event will take place in Nakuru County from June 22 to June 25, 2023.
Bang Bet’s CEO, Leonardo Varese, stated that the main objective of this sponsorship is to improve and promote talent for safari rally enthusiasts.
“This is an expensive sport, so we are looking for individuals who have the passion and desire to drive but may lack sufficient resources and need a little boost. Therefore, these individuals (Gerald and John) have demonstrated their potential, and we have included them in our program,” said Leonardo.
Rally driver John Ngugi expressed his gratitude to the company, hoping for a successful journey in the upcoming WRC Safari Rally.
“This safari rally sport is quite costly. Therefore, we are very thankful to Bang Bet for entrusting us with their brand. Our goal is to show them that we are ready for the task,” said Ngugi.
Ngugi will participate in the race using a Subaru Impreza N16 previously owned by Don Smith. He had previously used a Mitsubishi Evo 9.
On the other hand, Maina will drive a Mitsubishi Evo 9 and will compete for the first time in the Safari Rally since its reintroduction to the WRC calendar.
“Since Bang Bet came on board, we have been preparing ourselves because we did not have hopes of finding a sponsor early on. So we were thrilled when they came and offered their sponsorship. We are truly delighted,” said Maina.
This will be the 70th edition of the World Rally Championship Safari Rally.
