President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga are expected to lead consensus talks with leaders from Kajiado to help avert possible fallout within the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition.

Sources indicate that the two leaders will also meet Narok and Nairobi aspirants this week before announcing the preferred lineup for the counties.

It is expected that incumbent Joseph Ole Lenku will be given the opportunity to fly the joint Azimio ticket.

The move is aimed at ending the confusion emanating from Governor Lenku and Nkedianye’s camp.

Supporters of ODM and Jubilee in the county were thrown into confusion when former governor David Nkedianye decamped from ODM to Jubilee only for Governor Ole Lenku to later ditch Jubilee for ODM.

Initial reports had indicated that Jubilee and ODM had reached agreement on how to field candidates in Narok and Kajiado counties in order to lock out Deputy President William Ruto’s UDA.

The plan as admitted by various aspirants in both counties was to have ODM field a gubernatorial candidate in Narok while Jubilee was to field in Kajiado.

Sources at Orange house indicate that Raila’s plan was to have Ole Lenku defend his seat on the ODM ticket,a reason the governor switched camps.

In Kajiado, Nkedianye has been faulted for misunderstanding the whole game plan.

Chances are very high that Lenku will be unveiled but after the consensus talks. It is not clear who will be preferred to fly the senatorial flag.

Our sources further indicate that both ODM and Jubilee are relying on intelligence information and that they have been warned against fielding both Ole Lenku and Nkedianye.

“They know that if they all contest then it’s advantage to UDA a situation that should not be allowed to happen. This matter is likely to be settled this week,” said a voter in Kajiado.

Both Lenku and Nkedianye have been aggressive in their campaigns and have been ranked high in popularizing Azimio La Umoja Presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

Lenku has insisted that Kajiado is largely an Azimio zone and not a battle ground. He is currently enjoying support from over 25 MCAs in the county.

The final revelation from our sources is that after Kajiado, president Uhuru and Raila will unveil the Nairobi team.
