Online taxi drivers today demonstrated at the ministry of transport due to the increase of taxes from 15 percent to 18percent.

The drivers who deemed the hike as unfair asked the ministry of transport to reduce taxes from 18 percent to the original 15 percent.

E-hailing online partner Esther Wambui (Queensy) said”We need regulations and they were supposed to be gazetted at 15 percent but they were changed to 18 percent without public participation or permission.”

She added,”We are not here to harm anyone it is a peaceful demonstration but we demand for justice as online taxi drivers.”
