A survey from Info trak, whose results were released on 15th, July 2022 for the South Nyanza Counties namely: Nyamira, Kisii, Migori and Homabay Counties shows that
In Nyamira Dr.Mwancha Okioma of Jubilee is leading with 34%, followed closely by Hon Amos Nyaribo of UPA under Azimio umbrella Nyamira, at 31%, and then Hon Ben Momanyi at 13% and Hon Nyambati of Uda at 10%. Prof Marwanga is also standing at 7% and 5% were yet to decide.
In Kisii Hon Simba Arati of Odm leads the pack with 61%, followed by Machogu of Uda at 17% and Hon Chris Obure at 14% respectively.
In Migori County, Hon Ochillo Ayacko of Odm party leads the pack with 49%, followed closely by an independent candidate Hon John Pesa at 48%.
In Homabay County Dr.Evans Kidero who is independent is leading at 48%, followed closely by Odm’s Iron lady Hon Gladys Wanga at 46% respectively.
The two Counties (Migori and Homabay) might surprise the Odm party, as they made a mistake by issuing direct tickets, something that might cost them.
In Nyamira , there is simmering war between CS Matiang’i who hails from Kisii county and wants to control Nyamira through his briefcase party UPA and his preffered candidates both in Senate and Mps.
However, Danson Omari, a Nairobi based political analyst says majority of Nyamirans voters want a man who can bring change in the agricultural sector, create employment through agriculture and so much more. Youths of Nyamira are a bomb that is about to explode.
The political analyst says,Dr.Mwancha Okioma is the most suitable candidate to takeover as the next governor, if Nyamira needs change, he advised the people of Nyamira to avoid the narrative of clanism and go for the best candidate to salvage their ailing county of Nyamira,whose health sectors is on it’s knees.
